Just two short years ago Aunt Edna became our guardian angel! This summer I was in a summer workshop and decided to write a poem about her. I miss her so much! I love going to the cemetery and seeing Aunt Edna! I miss her dearly!
Aunt Edna
October 18, 1951 to September 11, 2007
sitting on the grass
next to where your body rest
I begin to think of what you mean to me
Once in a while,
Someone comes along,
Someone who just naturally
makes everyone feel a little happier,
Aunt Edna, you’re that someone to me.
you gave me a new perspective,
On what really matters in life.
Even though you were alone,
You always had me,
and I always had you,
There are things you’ve said to me
I’ll always remember,
and ways you’ve helped me
I’ll never forget.
The times we spend together,
are moments I wait for
They stay with me forever and
leave me waiting,
to the next time,
when I see you again
and then I reverently walk away
