Random things I hear all day...

As many of you know I work at Xactware. Xactware is located at the mouth of Provo Canyon (I told you that for a reason... It will make since in a min.) When you walk into Xactware my desk is what you see when you first walk in. I know how lucky are the guests and employees to see my smiling face as soon as they walk in. :) There are two desks here so you see two HR assistant when you walk in. (I just had to set up the story)

Since my desk is right in the front many employees walk past every day. They know the me and the other HR assistant but some just don't really know what to say to us because they don't really work closely with us. There are some who are great and just try to talk to us anyway. :) We have about a 15 second conversation because they are walking to their own desks. Then the other half doesn't know what to say so they come up with stuff that has changed... These are some of the things they come up with. (Amy and Ashley you will understand this blog the most.)

We have a water wall behind us that is on all day every day. I don't really hear it anymore... "Does that make you want to fall asleep?" "Do you have to go to the bathroom from listening to that all day?" "Does that sound bother you?" "Is that wall on all the time?" "That is the biggest water wall I have ever seen."

When the water wall is cleaned. "What is that smell?" "It smells like mint down here?" "Is that wall quieter?" "Gosh I hate when they do that. It smells so bad." “It seriously smells like a dentist office in here.”

Right when Employee walks in the front door or leave for the day... "It is windy out there?" "That canyon wind always gets us." "I hate when the weather is like this." "My hair is all messed up." "Have you been out there it is such a nice day?" "And how are you this morning?" "At least you get to look at the good weather all day." "Have a good evening." "All the pretty girls sit at the front desk.” “It’s always a party down here.” “Did you have a good run? Yes it is SO nice out there.”

Things we hear on the phone? “I have been waiting for like 45 mins? Is anyone working there?” “You didn’t tell me what number to push?” “How are you doing? Just peaches.” “Sales” “I think I need technical support?” “I don’t really know?” “Um I want to pay a bill.” Southern folks “Hi honey, sweetie, dear.” “Your IT director please?” Just to name a few….

Casual Friday, WHAT A WONDERFUL thing when people would talk about casual Friday I didn't really get it until I starting working and realized how amazing it is to wear jeans to work. Anyways, last week Kar Kar and I wore matching cardigans... This is what employee came up with that day... "Oh did I not get the memo?" "Did you guys plan to match today?" "Hey did you realize you are matching?" "Are you guys wearing the same thing?"

What did Kar Kar and I do... Decided to act surprised every time someone would say something. Like they were the first person to notice? It was great!

I LOVE where I sit at work because I get to hear these conversations every day. The best part about it... I get to make friends with everyone at Xactware! :) I love my life!
